I thought a couple of the responses from other members of the board were pretty good. After congratulating him, one member (Bonamai) said
"Having said that, if their readers form an opinion of this board's contributors based on the quote they used, they will think that we are a bunch of complete fools."
And another (Floating Eileen):
"so you think being quoted in a tabloid newspaper is something to be proud of?! Even if I was not a fan of Melodies For You I would get the impression that you are a rather unpleasant ageist bigot.
Of course I am not saying that you are ... I am simply putting myself in the place of someone reading it who might get that impression."
Water off a duck's back though.

The London Evening Standard is not the paper it once was, carrying comment like that, and nor are the Radio 2 boards. He was always a pest, but he now seems to monopolise the "2 News and Views", _________________ Ron |

If a journalist really wanted to quote something awful from the R2 MB about a radio show, he could just join the MB himself, post something awful, then quote that. So it says something that a quote from our friend is so visceral, even a gutter press journalist cannot think of anything lower. |
