A load of predictable, contrived tosh most weeks and last night's was even more so than usual. Yet it's somehow just the thing for a Sunday evening and I'll be continuing to watch it--I wonder why.

I'll be watching it, too - the reason being that my wife hides the remote control when it's on! Smile

Old-fashioned and popular. No wonder the BBC are axing it!

Never seen it.. I'll probably watch it in 10 years time and wonder why I didn't watch it at the time..
Like I did with "Upstairs Downstairs! Laughing

and Jeeves & Wooster..

Yeah, I've heard this is the last series. The BBC drama boss is a 20something meeja darling and he doesn't like this sort of thing.

Hopefully reports are wrong - they are bringing back Upstairs Downstairs, after all!

Turns out they have recommissioned Lark Rise... but only half the number of episodes of previous series.

I've never read the books but wonder if the original stories are exhausted by now.

We used to watch it, but just got bored - even by Sunday night standards it is somnambulant stuff!

I'd like to live in either Larkrise or Candleford. It's Summer all year round and it never rains or snows. Fabulous.

And how does that woman with the flock of geese get from one place to another in the blink of an eyelid?

The last episode should win an award for how to contrive happy endings for all deserving characters.
