There's a rumourette knocking around that a consortium of broadcast professionals is coming together to apply for a national DAB licence from OfCom and aimed at the "traditional Radio 2 audience" (whoever that is).

Well I hope it's true. Perhaps then we can get away from the dreaded playlist and enjoy all the music we are denied.

The "model" (if that's the right word) is the way that Planet Rock was rescued by a consortium of musicians including Rick Wakeman, Tony Iommi, Ian Anderson, Gary Moore, Fish & others.

I don't think that Mike Read's involved, though! Smile

By the way - it really is only a rumour...... I know no more.
