Paul McCartney has signed a deal to reissue his solo and Wings albums, both physically and digitally, through Universal's Concord label
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8634311.stm
Some of the old EMI copies, digitally remastered, with original cover artwork, and with bonus tracks (eg Mull of Kintyre and We All Stand Together) are stilll available in the shops and online for about a fiver.
Ram and Band On The Run, at least, are worth a punt at that, for anyone who hasn't got them already. _________________ Ron |

I've got a copy of Band on the run on vinyl up in the loft, haven't played it for years also, mainly because I've not had a record player for years! It's actually a very good album.
Always though pipes of peace was a half decent album too. |

Yes, I bought the LP (when did the "vinyl" reference come to the fore?) when it was first released and I've always liked it. Lots of energy which was committed to tape at EMI's Lagos studio. McCartney himself played drums on that album and did a very good job too!
His very first solo effort, called simply "McCartney" was excellent, with the second album "Ram" not being so good, I don't feel.
I have a very good record turntable and amp and I have to say that the LP still sounds better then the 25th Anniversary CD I have of "Band on the Run". |

Shouldn't Dom Joly be contributing sleevenotes on this reissue of 'Band On The Run'? 'Nineteen Hundred& Eighty-Five' was used as backing music on Trigger Happy TV a lot. _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!
