About 7:30 pm today it seemed like a good idea to have a pleasant evening in front of the TV, watching our local lads at Newcastle United knock spots off Birmingham City.

I'm now in total shell shock!!

Ian.

5-1 to Birmingham. Shock isn't the word. Embarrassment, more like it.

The city is in mourning this morning. I should have realised it was going to go badly for the Toon when Glenn Roeder's pre-match interview consisted mostly of him going on about playing Reading in the next round.... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Sorry to have to say this , Ian, but Newcastle were played off their own pitch last night.

Birmingham were well marshalled at the back by Matthew Upson nullifying the Newcastle strikers.

and, to quote Alan Hansen "You won't win anything with kids" The academy lads have done well, but they need the experience. How about we take one or two on loan at the KC?

No apology necessary; I quite agree!

The weather here has clearly come out in sympathy this morning--torrential rain and even a rumble of thunder.

Ian.

The team didn't turn up at all - it was more a case of "Stepford United" than Newcastle United. Possibly a case of believing their own press from the weekend game?
