Mornings are sorted with the excellent Chris evans breakfast Show on radio 2.
But i am finding the Simon Mayo Drive Show not quite there. I think Simon needs to rethink the format of the show.
Anyway, while I tired of drive, i twiddle to radio on my phone on the train journey home. what is this? "Absolute radio"? Absolute Rubbish. "Hometime"?
Used to be Virgin, now absolute. Rumoured to be a Rock Station. Not much music there, let alone Rock.
Simply the silly presenter nattering on & on, who thinks he is being humorous & ironic. He is not.
Absolute rubbish! It was back to Magic alternating with Radio 2

Chris Evans to me epitomises rubbish radio.
I'm with you all the way re Absolute radio. They don't have a playlist as such, but an overplay list. Can you believe that they are still playing 'Uprising' by Muse & 'Sex On Fire' by Kings Of Leon?! For heavens sake put them away. I never want to hear them again!! Learn when enough is enough!

Yep, I really think Absolute are Absolutely Clueless. I wonder if their playlist is thought out in the same way that the Homeless presenters inane chatter is?

Their credentials as a rock station went when, as Virgin, Chris Evans took over and they felt the need to play Kylie, Robbie et al.

I felt like Geoff Lloyd or someone must have been sleeping with Lily Allen as they flogged 'It's Not Fair' to death! I'm so glad that someone likened this song to a Two Ronnies skit.

Real Radio's constant ads do my head in. The one they play most of late is the one about injuries in a car crash that always seems to be on when I'm having my tea.

The voice says 'You hear about someone having their heart broken...' and I keep wanting them to play 'Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken' (Sandie Shaw) after!

I suppose Spock's Beard's 'A Flash Before My Eyes' will definitely be out of the question on Radio Aire etc., as it's about a man in a car accident.

Well, I've listened to Chris Moyles on Radio One this week. This morning his very cheeky chat with Holly Willoughby was very entertaining and even the music was pretty good. Evans doesn't stand a chance with me, not in a proverbial month of Sundays.

I tried Absolute again this morning (for Dave Gorman's show), and reverted to the usual ARFM as they are still playing that bloody Lily Allen song (The Fear)!

They are truly unbelievable. I heard that bloody 'Uprising' by Muse track for the 2 millionth time last week! I think that that Mumford & Son (sounds like a butchers shop!) track with the line "I will not hear what you have to say" in it (can't think of the real title) is now classed as a 'same old song' as they are still playing it to death. I thought someone on Radio 2 said that Mumford & Son had released a new single. Shouldn't Absolute now be playing that instead!

Find myself tuning into Planet rock and 6music these days, though still listen to Janice and Alex(though he is away at the moment).
Absoulute also has too many voiceovers as well as playing the same tunes

I used to like the original Virgin station back in the late 90s but I think Absolute is now little different from many of the other very corporate and bland radio stations we have as part of our listening choice (so called). I like listening to Planet Rock - especially on Saturday mornings when Rick Wakeman and David Jensen co-present a somewhat anarchic show, and then again on Sunday mornings when Jensen does his own show. He played some great music last Sunday and both shows are much, much better than the lame Radio 2 offerings in my humble opinion.
