Finally did the deed, sold my house in Newcastle and moved out into the country - I'm now living in the Northumberland countryside between Morpeth and Amble and loving the fresher air, quiet lanes, wildlife and even the 30 minute drive into work each morning!

Should have done this years ago!

Right on my old stomping ground there Cher. Top tip, shop in Ashington. Smile Enjoy! I have relatives all over NE Northumberland. Morpeth, Pegswood, Newbiggin, Ashington, Amble, Alnwick, Walkworth, Hauxley (High and Low), Cambois, Blyth and Lynemouth.

Welcome to rural Northumberland (if the small town of Prudhoe, where I live, can be so described).

I love all the places mentioned but feel that West Northumberland gets a bit overlooked. What could be lovelier than the Allen Valley or the North Tyne area around Bellingham?
