The BBC's most popular station has come under fire for packing its weekend schedules full of television funnymen, with Graham Norton, Paul O'Grady, Dale Winton and Alan Carr all appearing on its Saturday or Sunday output.

Well I can certainly live with the first three. There's a difference between camp and hysterical braying. Rolling Eyes

Well typical of the Mail really! Don't concern yourself with whether they're any good at the job..... Rolling Eyes

I still think comedians should be on stage or TV rather than playing at being radio DJs. I remember when Alan Carr was a guest on The One Show. I didn't mind him on there, but I couldn't put up with his 2 hour saturday show. The trailers are enough to convince me of that.

The Daily Mail. No, I'll just stop there whilst reflecting on the word "credibility".

From those mentioned, I would say that Paul O Grady is a superb presenter. His Sunday evening show is one of the best on Radio 2. He has a superb presentation style and plays a refreshingly wide range of music on his shows.
I know he dresses up as a woman on TV, but his radio persona is not "camp" at all, to my ears.
I don't care for the others mentioned, but this has nothing to do with their sexuality. I can't stand Wossy on radio & he can not be described as "camp".

OK I'll agree about Paul O'Grady. I don't mind his show. I just can't help but wonder how many actual DJs aren't getting their chance at a 'big break' because of the current 'celeb' (be they comedians or otherwise) obsession by Radio 2.

One in the Morning and one in the afternoon. Although I wouldn't call Graham and Dale comedians.
