I can't imagine Gordon Brown sitting down to breakfast listening to Chris Evans on the radio!

I had to give up this morning before he brought on Helen Worth (Gail from Coronation Street) but it seemed to me that, if you like Graham Norton's style (and there are lots of people who do) then you'll like him on the radio. It is at least his show, not him trying to do Chris Evans'

I'm not a big fan of Graham Norton but have found his show surprisingly enjoyable.

I don't like the sound of his voice, mainly because the volume goes up and down in every sentence.

Me too. I like his breakfast-time manner. At least, for these two weeks at least, the radio doesn't find itself being abruptly switched off immediately after the 7.00am news! That's praise of a sort.

He's really grown on me. And it's so nice being able to listen at that hour of the day.

Quote:
Graham Norton returns to sit in for Chris Evans for another two weeks of celebrity guests, features and great music, as he continues to settle into the network before he launches his new Saturday morning show in October.

The popular Grill Graham feature, along with co-host Alan Dedicoat, makes a welcome return and Graham introduces a new feature called Cheese With Toast – think the best of "naff" music

I think I might retune.

Oh joy, even more of the ubiquitous Dedicoate Rolling Eyes

Ok, it's better than Evans - but then what isn't? (obviously Alan Carr excepted).

The Radio 2 breakfast offering is certainly a welcome improvement on the usual rubbish we have to contend with. I actually kept my radio on this morning after 7.00am, and that's something I haven't done for many months!

When did I ever say I worked in radio?

And my interpretation of the word "rubbish" remains unchanged.

Extremely irritating and superficial interview with Kim Wilde this morning. Both of them falling about laughing at nothing. GN can bring out the ego in people like nobody else. Rolling Eyes

I'm happy to report that I think Graham N is brilliant on the breakfast show. He's so normal, in that, he could be anyone kind of way. He's like when your funny cousin comes around for coffee. I see the flaw in that though cos if you don't have a funny cousin, you won't know what mean but I do, and I do, so there it is.

He's all right. He is as you would expect him to be. If you've seen his TV shows, or read the equivalent of Grill Graham in Saturday's Daily Telegraph, he's just the same, but watered down for a morning family audience. There's far too much "cheese on toast" - it's only supposed to be one track, but the whole music selection seems to be so "croque monsieur"

I only listen until 8.00am but I agree with you. He's certainly much more amiable than the regular person.

I've got a funny cousin who might just come around for coffee one day, Rachel, so I think I get what you mean. I think. Sort of.

Happy to agree. Like Wogan, he talks to you rather than at you, a skill Evans has never acquired.

It makes for a better listening experience at that time of day.
