Shown on BBC 2 last night as part of the The BBC Films weekend
What a terrific film ...loved every minute of it ...superb performances from the lead actors! |

It was excellent Becky. Really enjoyed it. Thought Martin Sheen put in an impressive performance but maybe perhaps not quite as ebullient as the Brian Clough I remembered.
Billy Bremner and Johnny(?)Giles must have been pretty embarrassed. _________________ Minx

You can see why he wasn't made England manager too hot for the FA to handle.. |

I must confess after the way Don Revie treated Clough, I was quite pleased to see what eventually happened to Revie. But that was a good piece of casting in that part, I actually thought it was Revie. (it wasn't was it? ) _________________ Minx

It was the actor Colm Meaney, who's best known for playing Chief O'Brien in Star Trek The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. |

Coming from Brighton I had a special interest. Sheen was brilliant as Clough but I wasn't sure about Timothy Spall. A great performance but it didn't seem like the Peter Taylor I remembered.
However, the whole thing was stolen by Colm Meaney as Revie. An absolutely towering (and Glowering) performance, I thought _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |
