Have the big 50 coming up soon.

My wife asked me recently "what do you want to do to celebrate this birthday?".

My response was that the best present she could get me would be "dinner with Richard Allinson would be my first choice". Smile

She asked me to think again. Rolling Eyes

Has anyone done anything really special to celebrate the big 50 outside of a family party.

I had a wonderful 'bash' in one of my local pubs. A couple of live acts, a good spread put on by the pub (you'll need to estimate how many are due to attend - a good idea to over-estimate as it's better to have a bit over rather than run out) Plenty of friends / relations & some of the pub regulars joined in the fun too. They even put on a barrel of mild ale, my favourite tipple but sadly rare in my neck of the woods. A great evening was had by all!

Alas, I have now passed the big six-oh!

For my big birthday we had a party with all my family and favourite friends. I didn't feel that I needed any gifts so we took a charity collection in lieu.

It made for a really memorable occasion.

Hope whatever you decide to do goes really well.

Ian.

Wifey took me to Portmeirion for 4 days to celebrate my big 50.

We stayed in Castell Deudrarth (a Castle that featured as the Hospital in the original Prisoner series).

Fantastic accommodation and great weather for a change in Wales.

As a masive Prisoner fan choice of location could have not been better.

Took time out to travel on the 2 steam train journeys-the Ffestiniog Railway-Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog, and now the nearly completed Welsh Highland Railway from Caernarfon to Pont Croesor-just a few miles short from Porthmadog.
