Excellent to see that this a permanent gig each and every Saturday for serious music lovers.

Richard is perfect for this type of show. Hopefully BBC bosses will bring this show to Radio 2 sometime soon.

Mark,

yes it is great to see this as a regular. Fab show and as always, great to hear Richard - mind you we're getting spoilt, Richard being on the Radio every day of the week - not that I'm complaing of course.

Lesley, bring him back, Luv.

Mark O-Not before time-those of us with foootball appointments probably miss the last hour of Richard's Saturday afternoon show.

Still Richard is on the radio 15 hours a week now which is just fantastic compared to just 3 hours a week a year ago.

Hopefully BBC bosses will see the light soon and bring Allinsons Albums to Radio 2.

I was wondering where the listen again facilty had gone to! They keep saying it is available on air as well.

First time I've heard it right through this week, had internet problems the previous weeks.

What did you think of the show Helen-fantastic or what.

Without doubt BBC bosses should be bring this show to Radio 2. They could cut an hour from Ross's dire Saturday morming show and ditch the supposed comedy hour.

Richard Allinson rocks.

I enjoyed it Mark, as I usually do. I've heard the 2nd hour a couple of times.

As long as I can listen via the web I'm not that bothered that it's on Radio Oxford. It somehow makes it feel more exclusive,a cosy, relaxed and more personal show. I'm not complaining but will welcome the listen again when it's set up so I can catch it during the week when I'm not around on Saturdays.

Interesting thread here, listeners who want shows to be on BUT they won't be in. Why not just get the presenter to produce a podcast and then other listeners can have what they want whilst you are out ? Very Happy

It's really great to hear that Richard is using some of his jingles that feature on his daily BFBS shows on his BBC Radio Oxford weekend shows.

I wonder if the BBC are trying to save money by doing this-cannot they afford to get new/updated jingles themselves.

Some people do have lives to live away from a radio set you know Nod!

I prefer to listen live but it can't always be. I'd record it on the Sky box but R Oxford's not on there. I also like to have something to listen to instead of Drivetime.

You can't have music on podcasts for rights reasons. In any case it's the music I want to listen with a bit of banter interspersed.

Perhaps you could record it from R Oxford on the www. Try a program like 'Audio Recorder for FREE', search on www.download.com or similar for it.

I already use one but the streaming is not what it is on Radio 2 and drops off rather a lot.

Yes, Helen, it's always good to have an alternative to the shows you don't like through the week. Like you, 'Listen Again' comes into its own for me between 1700-1900 on weekday evenings, 1000-1400, 1630-1830 & 2100-2300 on a Saturday, plus most of Sunday (assuming I'm in the house, of course - I do have a life outside R2!)

Plus, I couldn't sit up until 0200 each Sunday morning no matter how much I like the Bob Harris show....!

Iam listening to Richard on line this morning and he does seem to select the same type of music lE: Thompson Twins, ABC and Kate Bush amongst some other tunes. He does this on two when he's covering. I reckon he must have his own playlist? I dont mind the tunes, just was pointing something out.

Mark O-Richard's knowledge of music is extensive. Consequently I think he has total control of what he wants to play.

Can't quite understand why he needs a producer really-what does he or she really do.

In saying that Richard has had the same producer on BFBS for the last 15 years-Julie.

It's the BBC/ radio and TV law, so she or he can get the emails, text, or answer the calls. Someone needs to do the leg work for the presenter.

No it doesn't Mark!

If you'd read my post from yesterday further up, I'd already said it was the first time I'd managed to hear the whole of the show for one reason or another.

Lesley Douglas-Appreciate you are very busy mesing up Radio 2 as best as you can but if you have a few minutes how about considering bringing Allinsons Albums on Radio Oxford to BBC Radio 2.

Saturdays 12-2pm would be good.

No space. There is an album show every monday evening. Radio 2 needs to give something different to all listeners. It's very good that BBC Local are able to give something different to the listeners in the Oxford area.

Delighted to see that BBC Radio Oxford have organised for the excellent Allinsons Albums Show which goes out on Saturdays between 12-2pm to be put on a Listen Again feature.

This is good news for all folk who have to leave for football fixtures before the end of the original show.

Good work Radio Oxford.

NB-Lesley Douglas-I would recommend this show to you-it's very good-why not take a listen.

Greetings to you Andy in Newcastle.

Good to see you are still a fan of Richard Allinson.

Have to say his daily shows on BFBS Radio 2 are just getting better and better.

Coupled with his excellent weekend shows on BBC Radio Oxford Richard has to be one of the hardest working dj's/presenters around.

His all round knowledge of popular music is outstanding.

Back at you Mark!!

yes, always a fan, alway's will be. there's just something about his presentation that I really enjoy listening to.

Yes, he's a dj and play's records but I thought yesterday's show on BBC Oxford was inspired - a trip round Britain taking in bands locations, how they formed, etc and then a song - not brilliant but then it doesn't have to be, just different enough to be enjoyable rather than "this is....", "that was...". etc.

I alway's listen to the BFBS show too, mark - truly the soundtrack to my day!

Can't really fault the bloke at all.
Technically excellent, excellent musical knowledge and he sounds as though he enjoys it.
Not too keen on the 10 minute paper review on a Sunday but the rest is great.
Always use Listen again to Sat and Sunday.
Still far too professional to be on the Radio 2 subs bench!!!!!!

I've listened to the first hour of A's Albums tonight while cooking tea. An excellent substitute for Drivetime which I still avoid like the plague!

2nd hour saved for tomorrow!

Snap - got a 'general error' after the news though so will have to listen to the 2nd hour some time later in the week. Pity he's hidden away on local radio....

I wonder why Richard has dropped the special guest feature from his Sunday morning breakfast show on BBC Radio Oxford.

I am not complaining as it means he plays more music.

Richard's show is just briiliant for a Sunday morning-so much better than the dross that is on BBC Radio 2 at the same time.

She did not even win on the competition but "Richard you make me melt"-she definetly had the hots for Richard.

This show should be on BBC Radio 2.

Get the sleep out of your eyes Radio 2 bosses.
