Now i would love to go to his gigs next May but the cheapest ticket is £90 Shocked and of course it's right at the back. With the cost of getting there and a few beers at the venue im looking at £150/160.To me this seems a bit of a rip off

Seems a case of only if you win the lottery, then I suspect you may be able to afford better seats! Does anyone else remember his Pros & Cons Of Hitch Hiking album?

I'd rather see the 1970s line-up of Pink Floyd in performance again. Sadly, with Rick Wright now playing The Great Gig in The Sky there's not much chance of that.

That does seem rather steep, especially for seats at the back.

Did anyone read the Rock Back Pages in Classic Rock about The Wall in Berlin? It was first printed in Radio Times in 1990, and Waters was explaining about his dislike of playing in stadiums.

I can understand the isolation he felt with the shouting audiences - it gets my back up now when they fiddle with mobile phones in the cinema or in theatres.

I hate stadium gigs. Anything bigger than the Royal Albert Hall (my favourite venue and also the favourite of Eric Clapton) is a no-no with me.

I did see Take That (no - please don't ask) last year at Wembley and although the whole event was very good the place is just way too big.

I remember seeing Pink Floyd play at the Colston Hall in Bristol back in the 70s and that was fabulous.

My fav venue is Brixton acadamy in London. The sound is top notch and you get a good view wherever you stand. As a smaller venue you can't beat the Norwich waterfront now that's a place i would love to see Floyd

Is the Waterfront anywhere near Riverside in Norwich Littlepieces? near the Station?

I haven't been to that many live shows over the years but I did see Madonna at the old Wembley Stadium... it was ok but I preferred say, Zappa at the Hammersmith Odeon.

Back in the late 60s and 70s, we would see reasonable bands at the St. Andrews Hall, a church in Norwich! it was ok though... I saw Golden earring there and Savoy Brown. We even went there to see a film show of "Hendrix in the West" Shocked seems a very dated idea now.

There was also a small pub in Norwich where we would see a lady by the name of Black Anna singing blues numbers to a piano accompaniment.. it was soooo crowded in there but great all the same.

I think I would prefer small to middle sized venues tbh.. and festivals would be completely out of the picture for me.. I hate mud! Laughing

My mum saw the picture of Waters on the front of Classic Rock Presents Prog and asked 'Is that Harrison Ford'?

I saw Mr Waters at Earls Court a few years ago he played Dark Side all the way through then 20 minute encore of some of his and other PF tracks.

Wish I'd taken some binoculars I was about half way round on one side on one of the terraces ( or whatever you call them) big venue, didn't think it was all that, however didn't pay more than £30 for a ticket so didn't think it was bad value.
I did get asked if I wanted to go to see this tour and to be honest said no before I heard the prices.
way too pricey for me I'd rather go and see someone I'd never heard of for a tenner.

I much prefer smaller venues more intimate, i'd love to see U2 but not at Wembley thanks

Would love to go to both Walters and Clapton shows - but agree the costs are just too high, together with parking/transport to London (and I'm in commuter belt area).

I did see PF at Wembley performing Dark Side of the Moon (as their new album) and they also performed Echoes - so will have to satisfy myself with that.

Remember seeing Bad Company performing their first gig at Oxford New Theatre - now that was good. Have to agree these large venues take the atmosphere away.

Oh to win the lottery eh?!

Yes, we've seen Clapton many times at his Albert Hall shows since the late 80s and the RAH is just about the limit as far as large venues goes. I really can't stand big venues any more. Trouble is the cost of travel to and from London venues is just too prohibitive so we tend not to bother.

Yes, I saw one such gig as well!

I saw Bad Company (among many other name bands) at Plymouth Guildhall when I was at school and then college in the early/mid 70s. They were great gigs - even though most of the band-members were probably too out of their heads to remember them!

David Jensen played some great bad Company tracks on his Sunday morning Planet Rock show last week, too.

I think I'm with you on that one, isn't it odd though that the Albert Hall looks fantastic on tv but it has definitely seen better days.

Don't get me wrong the sound in there is fantastic and the Spiriualized gig I saw there in 97 is still my favorite gig, but the corridors around the outside reminded me of multistorey carpark, and it smelt similar.
I'd like to think they'd done soemthing about it, it was a few years ago when I went last (lotr soundtrack LSO and Howard Shore )

Worst venue I ever went to was the Union Chapel, Islington. Bloody awful acoustics - sound bouncing around all over the place, uncomfortable seats - we only stayed about half an hour.

Yet I am always reading reviews saying how good the sound is there? Maybe they've done something to sort it out I dunno, but I'd never go to a gig there again.

I've always lover the Junction in Cambridge, lovely little venue when I say lovely I don't mean you should wear anything decent, as it's a little sticky. Holds about 1000 people.

All the up and coming bands play there, I saw Elbow on the first uk tour there, the sound in there is great. especially comparred to the Corn Exchnage which is a few hundred metres away and holds twice the amount, and gets much bigger acts, but the sound in there is awful. You have to be right on the barrier to get any decent sound and i'm rapidly approaching 40 so am a little old to be on the barrier.

normally I can be seen leaning against a wall with my arms folded with an expression on my face that says come on entertain me.

Saw Primal Scream on the Xtrmntr tour only a few years ago (probibly more than I think) and they did something to me that got me to the barrier with the kiidiwinks
