Not me... I have a Virgin box and a Freesat recorder. The hard disc on the Freesat is usually about 75% full! mostly old Star Trek shows. I did think about transferring them all to DVD... but 80 shows?? I'd rather buy another unit!
My Virgin unit has about 30 hours left out of 80 so it's not too bad... a lot of the disc space was taken up when they did all the Beatle mania stuff last year. I feel I'd like to keep that.

We've had it for a few years now and I used to keep lots on it. However after about 3 years the hard drive went and everything with it. We didn't lose much of importance as I'd copied that to the DVD but I don't keep as much on it now. It's about half full at the moment.

If there's something you really want to keep make a copy on a DVD!

Is it a sky+ box or a sky+hd box. We recently upgraded to sky+hd & I have noticed the controls are more sensitive than the original sky+ box & have deleted a few programmes by mixtake. I suggest you use the 'keep' option where you have to put your pin number in before deleting a program Smile

I don't like the fact that it's a closed system - ie: the recordings are locked in and you can't export them unless you go out via analogue connections. I like to dump recordings out to DVD etc. I also don't like the fact that they can delete any of your recordings remotely and at the press of a button (not many people know that!).

The other thing I don't like about Sky+ is the fact that your viewing and listening is controlled by the Murdoch mafia.

Freeview/Freesat is a much better option - especially since there's an equally good alternative to Sky+ (Freesat Plus).

Apparently you get an HD box now even if you aren't subscribing to the service.

It's OK, I'll let you off. Smile This is the problem, though; the Murdoch organisation buys up the rights to all this stuff and effectively ties people in to using his broadcasting services or nothing. I just wish OfCom was allowed to have more clout but I doubt that will ever happen. Part of the deal that Blair did with Murdoch in the run-up to the 1997 election was that he wouldn't tighten up broadcasting regulation after the disasters of Thatcherism post-1990.

Anyway, I'm not really into cricket - as you can probably guess - so it's an easier decision for me to take! Smile

Mine is a V+ box, i'd like to say it was because of Murdoch's control over the british media but it has more to do with OH working for Mr B so the staff discount was the over riding factor.

I just don't get round to watching all the stuff on it, and dispite her moaning I have no intention of deleting the 2006 world cup final ( I've got a funny surname) but on HD boy does it fill the memory up.

Colin, there is an option on V+ to put it on DVD in the menu, we don't have a recordable dvd played so not sure how it works
