Can any clever 'puter friendly person help me? I'm trying to load an avatar to my profile but every time I click on it I get a message saying the image must be less than 6mb. Is there a way to reduce the size (compress?) my image to make it less than 6mb? At the moment it's 14mb and I've cropped it down to nowt. |

Is it the right file format? It should be max 6KB not 6MB and no bigger than 100x100pixels. |

My avatar image is wider and 7.5kb. You can exceed the limits a bit by linking to your image e.g. on photobucket _________________ -

Mine was 300 x 400 and 27.5kb. I just resized it to "Tiny" on photobucket. _________________ Ron |

I had a right job with mine as well and I'm a graphic designer lol - working with images in photoshop and quark and whathaveyou all day every day! Kept resizing it and changing the resolution to make it fit but no joy. Thought when it did appear it would be just be a blob but miraculously it was ok.
If you're sitll having problems Dude - pm me and I'll give you my email addy - resize it for you and send it back. |

Yes, I just chuck mine into Photoshop as well. For those don't have it, there's a decent enough freebie app that can be downloaded which is called "The Gimp" which will do all this and more. (Some say it's as good as Photoshop but I don't agree).
As for avatar resizing, it's ideal and easy to use. Just make sure it's saved in either a JPG, GIF or PNG file format. |
