I've just been on the Smooth website and am somewhat surprised to find out that as from next Monday, 4 October, Graham Dene,Dave Brown and Paul Coia will no longer be doing their usual shows. Must say they kept this news pretty quiet. Shame really. I enjoyed listening to all these guys and apart from Lynn Parsons who's taking over the breakfast show, I've not heard of the two new guys. Oh well, that's progress I suppose!?

I'm really looking forward to having Lynn on Smooth breakfast as I haven't had a breakfast show to listen to since the last time Johnnie Walker covered for Wogan
I don't know the other new presenters but I think the way things are going with Bob Shennan Smooth could take a sizeable slice of the Radio 2 audience at certain times of day
Perhaps then the BBC will realise that Radio 2 is heading in the wrong direction

The big problem is that Smooth is only getting national coverage on DAB, so it doesn't have a hope in hell of putting up a meaningful challenge to Radio 2 who must mostly listen on FM not just at home or in the workplace but on the move.
