has been off form for a bit and his personal life has been all over the papers.Do you think the two are connected and we should look at our media or do you think he gets everything he deserves?

His poor World Cup form certainly seems to be continuing, and yes I believe it is connected to the excessive media coverage. However, what causes the media coverage? The great unwashed masses, the British public, who are obsessed with celebs. This is bound to affect any public figure.
However, he can't have it both ways. He and Coleen have certainly benefitted from media coverage, publicity, advertising and sponsorship so he just has to accept the negative coverage as well, especially when considering his extra marital behaviour.
Perhaps it's time Sir Alex Ferguson tried to help Rooney with his problems, rather than taking the easy option and merely dropping him for a few games.

To me Wayne Rooney and his dreadful wife typify much of what is wrong with our society today
The media seemed to become obsessed with certain basically mediocre people and push them endlessly to the point where the public have had enough and begin to dislike them
I have to admit I used to like Girls Aloud but the endless discussion about Cheryl Cole in recent months has completely put me off
Wayne may be a reasonably talented footballer when he bothers to set his mind to it but as a human being he leaves a lot to be desired and does he really set a good example to young lads interested in football

Wayne is a young lad who is talanted at his chosen career.Every mistake he makes is splashed over the papers,but as has been said the media has been good for him and his wife as well.
I think he should be dropped for a couple of games and get himself sorted out,I say this as a Tottenham fan but I want him back scoring goals for man utd and England

The trouble is he is a thick football player who is very well off, without a proper education
I know a sweeping statement but what makes a good footballer is the fact that they spent all their spare time as youngsters playing football.

In the defense slighly of Mrs R she has been with Waaayyyyyne before he got famous so unlike the other "models" around she is slightly less mercenary (although she does ok now )

Is it really the "great unwashed" as you say, the press don't really take them into account when reporting, they give them what the think they want, my OH buys certain magazines where these bints are plastered all over them complaining that they are too thin but then sell new diets !

Money is the root of all evil (well it is in football) oh and the press are scum

He is fortunate enough to have a talent that he garners huge financial rewards from which allow him and his family to live in luxury..he has married his childhood sweetheart and has a new baby son....it all sounds idyllic but something must be wrong somewhere...either that or he is just a selfish pleasure seeker who has no thought for anybody but himself and if that is the case yes! he gets what he deserves.
