How ironic it is that this is published by the Daily Mail. |

Thought the Mail would have been more bitchy...... _________________ I like hedgehog crisps |

It's ironic because the Mail's bilious and biased reporting must have contributed in no uncertain terms to the problems that Sarah had to endure.
Another reason to never, ever, give money in exchange for that insidious rag. |

I'm not particularly familiar with Sarah's output but she comes across as a very decent, down to earth person to me.. and I believe all she said in the article is true..
If it is true, I think the way she's been treated at the BBC is a disgrace and, I think O'Leary should have been sacked for what he said... little pupsqueak.. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07
I have heard how radio should be. |

If Sarah says she was never under the affluence of incahol on air I can only believe her.
I would certainly agree that it's sad her time at the BBC seems to have come to an end in this way.
She certainly was popular. The problem for me however was that whilst at times she could be brilliant at other times I hadn't the remotest idea where the links were going. Sometimes she would talk for 10 minutes then put a track on with only a minute before the time signal. That can happen to us all but with Sarah it became too frequent.
I have no doubt presenting Early Morning Shows does play havoc with your social life. However other presenters both on the BBC and Commercial Radio seem to cope as by the way does my milk man. |

That's true, but by the same token there are others that can't. Last year, I did a stint at QVC on broadcasts that started at 12.00 midnight until 1.30 on Saturday mornings and I just couldn't keep it up, so I backed out.
Some people (like Alex) seem to be happy to work the graveyard shift in exchange for the King's Shilling but not everyone can do it. I hate working in the very early hours.
Obviously, after 19 years, SK just got to the point where she had enough. |

I agree. I ocassionally look through it if it is available at the coffee shop so I can keep tabs on the bile pouring out of it, but I wouldn't buy it |

Whilst I am no great fan of any of the press pack let's keep a sense of proportion here
The Mail is nowhere near as bad as certain other tabloid newspapers notably the one which published lies about the Hillsborough disaster and is now virtually impossible to get hold of in Liverpool
The fact is that all newspapers twist the truth to some extent to achieve sales but that particular one is far worse than any other for doing this
so to single out the Mail is frankly silly |

She still blames someone at the BBC. I hope Sarah can now move on and be back serving her listeners somewhere soon. |

It's certainly unfair to single out the Mail, but that doesn't let the insidious rag off the hook in any way. |

Oh that's just not fair, Colin, yesterday's Peanuts was brilliant.
She wasn't happy with his new business.
"You'll never make any money growing toadstools", she exclaimed.
“On the contrary my dear, my Toadstool business is mushrooming”, he protested.
She creamed him with the toaster. |

The old ones are the best!
Another: My dustbin's absolutely full of toadstools
How do you know it's full?
Cos there's not mushroom inside.
(Groans)
As to the Mail's SK interview, I think it's a case of less is more; the one in the Telegraph earlier had more bite. At least she has now had her say. _________________ Ron |

Reminds me of the way Radio 2 presently treats its loyal listeners
Feed them s--t and keep them in the dark!
Is that what they call mushroom management! |
