Earlier today I was discussing Norman Wisdom and my friend asked if he was still alive. "Of course he is. He lives on the Isle of Man" I commented.

I spoke too soon........

That's really sad news and the man will be sadly missed
He was so versatile and clever and always amused the audience without ever saying anything bad about any other human being
Of course visual humour was his forte and I'm sure its not an easy thing to do
Whenever I watch the repeats of Some Mothers do 'ave Em I always wonder how much Michael Crawford's performances were influenced by Norman's exploits from several years earlier
We have today lost a true genius of comedy the like of which we probably won't see again

Sad news indeed. He seemed indestructible .. but sadly none of us are.

RIP Norman.

Never a great fan of Norman Wisdom myself but I can see how he could have been considered a legend of sorts....

I remember seeing him in some film, probably a Carry On film, where he was injured, and the ambulance crew came and strapped him onto a stretcher. When they picked the stretcher up, they somehow turned it round so that he was on the underside of it, and naturally when they came to try to slide it along the floor of the ambulance they just kept repeatedly crashing his head into the number plate. I laughed till I cried.... even all the way home. Laughing
A truly great comedian.
