Thanks to 6 Music for this - I found it on the I-player, but it wasn't advertised widely unlike The Special One's show in a field, say.

Robert Plant and Sandy were suited to each other as singers. Thanks also to the Uncut feature on her for explaining her 'three triangles' symbol on the Led Zeppelin IV album as being for the triple goddess, and NOT anything to do with MOT testing at petrol stations.

I can identify with the insecurity she was said to have.

I think I love you Aviddiva - wouldn't have wanted to have missed this for the world. Many thanks for posting - and for the Joni one too.

Have you Clinton Heylin's book - No More Sad Refrains? Can't recommend it highly enough. I got it out of the library 5 or 6 years back having not heard (to my knowledge) a single Sandy Denny track. Got an anthology CD (also from the library) and now I am a huge fan and own pretty much everything she ever did. I knew about her, before I knew about her music even though I had lived through the times when she was around. Let's just say I was looking in other directions musically, but discovering her, albeit later than most, has been a joy.

Thanks again for posting and here's the wonderful Sandy Denny doing what she did best. Very Happy

I do have this book! Excellent, though upsetting when reading about the circumstances which led to her death.

It's a strange thing that people who are so incredibly talented are so full of doubts and insecurities and end up self medicating with drugs and booze and allsorts. Not only could she sing like the angels, she could play piano, guitar and probably a few other things and write the most beautiful songs.

Yet she was riddled with self doubt, incredibly self conscious about her looks (even though she was in reality very pretty). So many like her - Nick Drake for starters. Then you see these completely talentless fools who think the sun shines out of their own backsides.
