Former Casuality star has died of cancer at the age of 58. He played Dr Harper in the hospital drama for Six years.

That was a shock. I just saw him on New Tricks and thought how well he looked.

Has he died or has he changed into a bird or something?

I saw him on that - and didn't think he looked well at all. I didn't know he had cancer though.

Red Baron - thanks for that remembrance of 'Manimal'!

That sounds a lovely re-incarnation sequence - McCorkindale coming back as a bird.

He was in an episode of New Tricks a couple of weeks back and looked wonderful. Hard to believe he was so desperately ill. I don't know when the latest series was recorded - judging from some of the outside shots - back in the Summer?

I've seen references to 'Manimal' on other forums, but have to admit it was something that completely passed me by? Was it a kids' programme?

I remember him in death on the Nile and Manimal. A very good actor and from what I've read a very nice man too.
