It has just been said by someone on Five Live that Liverpool have won more points in the courts this week than they have in the Premiership this year...
After all their troubles of the last few months I hope things settle down for them and wish them well...(apart from when they're playing my teams.. ) |

Thanks for that Becky
I'm currently watching the Merseyside derby and judging from the first half performance I think we will need all the help and support we can get!
Its going to be a long haul back to the top but at least with the ownership issue settled hopefully some decent players can be signed in January and this may build a better platform for next season

Roy Hodgson said after ther match he might be a sample of one but he thought the team played well
The Everton fans were singing "Going down, going down, going down and the Liverpool fans replied "So are we,so are we,so are we".....humour not gone.....yet!.... |

On the John Lennon statue at Liverpool Airport there is a plaque saying 'Above Us Only Sky'.
Beneath that it says 'Below Us Only West Ham.' |

Agreed, the Blackpool v Man City game was excellent, even if Blackpool were badly treated by the referee.
I hope City break into the 'top four' (now top three of course). It would be nice to see the Chelsea / Man Utd domination broken. |

From the BBC website...
Maiden's Bruce Dickinson flies Liverpool FC to Naples
Heavy metal legend Bruce Dickinson is flying the Liverpool squad to Naples ahead of the club's Europa League clash with Italian side Napoli.
The Iron Maiden frontman, 52, who holds a commercial pilot's licence, will captain the Astraeus Airlines plane from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Dickinson, despite admitting he had no allegiance to any football team, said he hoped he would bring the Reds luck.
Liverpool are due to play Napoli at 2000 BST on Thursday.
"I was originally supposed to be going to Iceland and flying down to Las Palmas and Tenerife, but this looked a lot more interesting so I'm flying the team down to Naples."

Yes John
A fantastic performance by my team today and I think the Hodgson magic is finally starting to show
Good managers don't suddenly become bad ones overnight and I have every confidence Roy will get it right but it will take time and the problems are not over just because of one good performance
Nice to see Torres back to near his best and a special word for Martin Kelly who came in and did sterling work in defence
I'm glad Roy is giving chances to good local English youngsters and I feel sure that this is the way forward to supplement with the big names in the squad
As someone said if you're good enough you're old enough
I'm delighted to see that the new owner genuinely seems to be interested in sport and in the club generally unlike the former idiots who were simply asset strippers and that's putting it kindly _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I don't mind Hodgson but I really don't get his silly prioritising of certain competitions.
We're out of the League Cup, have no chance of winning the league and He's saying the Uefa cup is not a priority, so what exactly is then, Roy???
In the old days Liverpool went for every trophy equally and hardly used the amount of players that they use nowadays. |

What a great result for Liverpool ...a real turn up for the books the way things have been going lately.
Terrific second goal from Torres. |

Gaz I entirely agree its wrong for the large clubs to be prioritising and they should be going all out to win every competition
This really all comes down to the imbalance in football finances where certain clubs notably Man United Man City Chelsea an d Arsenal can field effectively a second team in certain competitions relying on their cash stuffed benches if they begin to come unstuck
It devalues the competitions for spectators and also shows little respect to the smaller clubs who in the event of winning always have it in the back of their mind they were playing a weakened opposition team
Teams should have points deducted for deliberately and repeatedly using such tactics
Getting back to Liverpool I don't really think this aspect is a problem at the moment as their bench is usually so weak I doubt anyone could reasonably say that the team not playing was better than the one on the field
I do think there is a place for giving new young players a chance but this should apply in the Premier League not just the Carling Cup of FA Cup and I think the approach of Arsene Wenger to these cup competitions over the last few years has been arrogant and disrespectful
I say get rid of the majority of foreign players and managers and lets get back to the proper British game and at the same time hopefully produce a national team we can be proud of _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
