Hi ya Julia

Thanks for the welcome! "we won't bite" - not sure CE and SW would agree Laughing I've been listening to R2 for more years than is good for me! I am a fully paid up member of the JW and BH appreciation society and I cannot stand the crud that has been introduced to the station in the past few years.

I'm only 38 but I feel like an old git moaning like this, but I just enjoy good music and a jolly well informed DJ who treats his/her listeners as grown ups. In fact a good DJ makes you feel like they are talking to just you, like you are a special person they want to share a gag or a anecdotal story with.

People like Bland and Heavens want us to feel how great they are, how matey they are - not with the listener but with their sycophantic friends in the studio.

Rant over now Laughing

I totally agree with you on DJ style
(I'm not a fan of their new 'finds' either Wink

General,
Julia is right, Most of us don't bite. We enjoy our full and frank exchange of views, but we do it with mutual repect.

Come on in - the water's fine! Smile

And if you don't like CE and SW, you'll have plenty of support here. Fair to say there's an equal number who do like them (or CE at least), but that's what makes it fun.... Smile

Welcome aboard....

Thanks guys /gals! What a welcome. I never got round to joining the old bbc mb (too many richard heads), but here does seem friendly and well modded. Glad there's a few folk like me who want good entertainment. To be honest I prefer Bland to Heavans. I find CE so insincere, it's like he's all matey and interested in everything his listeners do, say, think but in real life you just know he doesn't give a toss. A least Bland makes no pretence of his arrogance. Regarding SW, I don't love the show Steve, but sometimes I think he's having a bit of a joke, a parody if you like.
