I noticed that there has been a few songs with the word " Flood" in it so far this year. Katie Melua released one earlier this year, and Take That recently released their new single. Now the latest one is by Cheryl Cole, who is calling her song Flood - which she will perform on the X-Factor. |

There's been a few of those in recent years, usually after we've been promised a 'barbecue summer', most recently in 2007 in the North & West of the UK. There was one in my own locality the previous year caused by an afternoon of thunderstorms one sunday. I had been out and got home about 5 minutes before all hell broke loose! Anyone remember Boscastle in 2004? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

None of them as good as Here Comes the Flood by Peter Gabriel _________________ You will hear gospel and rhythm and blues and jazz, all those are just labels, we know that music is music. |

I think that track by Rhianna started all this water music so to speak
What was it Umbrella and it rained for about 3 months
Since then we've had plenty of floods as people in Cumbria and Cornwall know only too well
Don't think this sort of thing happened when Handel composed the original Water Music! _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Not sure of your use of the word "mostly" was needed _________________ You will hear gospel and rhythm and blues and jazz, all those are just labels, we know that music is music. |

Light years away from the bland manufactured X factor stuff and the cheesy daytime R2 schedule stuff, can I put before you, not a song, but a whole album?
'Morning Brings a Flood' by Alexander Wolfe. Shades of Neil Young, Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake, it's a beautiful piece of work. _________________ "There are more of us now......that makes us right" |

They're my favourite band, I saw them at London's Royal Festival Hall this Summer (20 years and 3 days after I'd bought Flood) and they were brilliant. |
