On Radio 4 this morning

A couple of songs that were suggested by Kirsty, but were not Nick's choices...The First Cut Is The Deepest and Puppet On A String ...any other suggestions?

I'll go for Both Sides Now... Smile

I don't like Clegg, so i avoided the show. But looking at the music list I am impressed he picked "Sunday Morning Comming Down" by Johnny Cash. I think that is one of Cash's best tracks, much better than the more fashionable "Hurt".

I do sometimes wonder what calculations go into choosing of discs by celebs & poloticians on the show
In Howard Jacobsons' brill new novel the Finkler question, one of the charechters is asked to appear on Desert Islad discs & canvasses peoples ideas on what music he should pick as he doesn't really listen to music. A very amusing episode

He remembers this song from his parents playing it in the car when they went on family holidays across Europe..
