On another forum I use, there's an option to ignore certain posters. Never used it over there, but I was wondering if that function is available on this board?

Hi Ian,

Sounds like more work for Mods Confused

I'll ask admin, but for the moment troublesome names, IPs and addresses are targetted to minimise disruption.

Hi Ian,

As it stands it isn't an option for individual members to ignore other individual members.

Fair enough. Looks like the one and only person who would have been on my list has gone now anyway!

It must be a sad life to spend your days making up new user accounts that will never get activated. Rolling Eyes

I think we'd already realised the amount of spare time they've got!

Missed all the events of today though - I take it the usual suspect(s) have been popping in and getting deleted?

Even more pointless we see the usual offensive new members names at the bottom of the screen, but they cant post. Scott must be very bored to register new accounts all day long.

Using one or two computers? Being nice with a few posts, trying to win us over, then it dosn't go their way and starts to be silly and abusive.

Not with phpBB there isn't. It's even near-impossible to ban people by their IP addresses because these days lots of ISPs allocate them dynamically and therefore they're changing all the time. That's why the BBC had such problems with banning the spammers on their boards - if you ban on particular IP address you might be banning a perfectly innocent user who just happens to be given that IP the next week.
