Boris Johnson has vowed to oppose the government on its new HB measures. This leaves Cameron & Clugg isolated as the only enthusiastic supporters of the HB cuts, tho even Clugg looked rather sick during PM Question Time. Cluggs' baying at Milliband seemed distinctly half hearted realising that Lib Dem supporters were watching & would be likely to tar & feather him were he seen to be too enthusiastic about these cuts.
Is it really on to be sending hundreds of thousands to dogy B&Bs?? |

I think this last paragraph is the most vital to remember
The vast majority of claimants are pensioners, those with disabilities, people caring for a relative or those working people on low incomes.
So we are NOT talking about the workshy or scroungers. But old & frail people, people with disabilities & those on benefits because they are caring for relatives.
What happens to those being cared for if their carers are forced to move away? If they go into care homes it will cost the tax payers & rate players ALOT more
BTW, WELL DONE TO BORIS JOHNSON!!!
He has alot more backbone & sensew of social justice than yellow livered collaborators like Clugg & Simon Hughes |

I totally agree Clive
We need more peole like Boris who always sticks with his true convictions even if it sometimes can get him into trouble
At least he isn't two faced like some I could mention

but this paragraph is never printed in the Murdoch papers as all claiments are evil is their current line. That and blame the civil service for the recession.
We will end up with slum towns on the outskirts of London, like Stevenage, Welwyn GC, Luton etc and they are not exactly lush towns now.

Interesting to see all the self righteous pseudo indignation from assembled Lib Dems at Boris Johnsons' comments
The hypocrisy of the Lib dems is without precedent! They claimed to be so opposed to Apartheid. But in terms of forcing the lower paid and those dependent on benefits out of the big cities & into satelite towns (Twonships- think grubbier versions of Soweto, alexandria & so on)- this is exactly what the ConDems would be creating in London. A Social apartheid- the cleaners, nurses, ect would live in Townshipos. Maybe they would even need passes to be allowed into London proper. That is certainly an idea Cable has thrown on the table. Even senior tories balked at that one |

Whilst I don't agree with his politics (he's a tory and I'm not), I do like the fact that Boris takes an independent view of things rather than slavishly toe his party's line.
And if he manages to get Call Me Dave's back up in the process that's good by me!!!

You shouldn't make the mistake of judging the merits of the Tory Party by Mr Cameron
I said 2 years ago that the Conservative Party will ditch Cameron once he had won the election and I still think I will be proved right
The recent decisions will be so unpopular in about 3 years time that Tory MPs with an eye on their future careers will see Cameron as a liability and get rid of him in favour of a more user friendly leader such as Boris or more likely David Davies
Cameron should be seen as a means to an end but trust me the same mistake will not be allowed to happen as occured in the Labour Party when they failed to ditch Gordon Brown and believe me I know what I'm talking about when it comes to Conservative Party issues

I'll give you Boris as user friendly as at least he can be seen as quite funny at times and at least speaks his mind but David Davies is the equivalent of IDS popular in the party but too right wing for the general populous.

I actually voted for Boris to get rid of Ken. The only time I ever voted Tory. Now the London Labour Party in total madness chose Ken to stand for Labour again for Mayor. If they'd gone with Oonah King at least there would have been a decent oponent to Bruce.
As it is, Boris may be a better choice for those opposed to the ConDem candidate.
Ken certainly is NOT a viable option for Labour Loyalists. In the Poplar & Limehouse constituency he is actively backing Respect candidate George ("I salute your indefatigability & courage, Saddam Hussein") Galloway against the official Labour candidate.
I hear that Boris is backtracking on his vow to protect Londoners from the Condems.
If Boris sticks by his pledge to put Londoners ahead of the ConDem govt, he might still get my vote
