John Reid wants the home office split in two, as he described it as " Not Fit For Purpose". This could see the home secretary job going.

One department would be for homeland security and the other for justice which would each get there own minister.

Great - communications within the various parts of the HO are rubbish to start with - what's it going to be like if it becomes two separate agencies? Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Does that mean John Reid will be sawn in half by Paul Daniels as well?

If that doesnt work they can always divide it into eighths.

I do hope that this works but why does it make me think of rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic?

Which of these two sub-departments will administer the Police ??
Security or Justice.
I take it that the overall administration will have to be done by a two-faced minister.
No shortage there then, take your pick. Wink
