Forward-facing cameras have been in use in various places over the last few years. Although the square Gatsos are apparently not allowed to face oncoming traffic (because they flash and may distract the driver), the digital ones with the two lenses can - we've had at least four on a two-mile stretch of road in Newcastle for a while now.
Seems a bit of overkill to have two cameras targetting the same stretch of road, though.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”
