Why does JVs trailer for his show take longer and longer in KBs show ?
It was greater than 10mins today and the show starts only 20mins later |

As much as I like Ken's show it just another reason for missing out (TEF)
If Tracks Of My Years was on before 11.30, I would switch off long before JV make an appearance.

OK it was 6min 27 secs which is still too long for droning, sensationalistic JV.
It felt like a lot longer. |

Shouldn't that be 'TEE'? Or am I not getting something?
No offence, kengeo! |

Well it's been like that for at least 20 years as Jimmy Young did the exact same thing.
I actually like that part as Ken normally puts a good take on whatever is to be discussed.

1 minute would be too long for me, as I just can't stand Jeremy Vine, but I appreciate they need to line up some listener contributions for the show before it starts. It does often seem the common sense from Ken Bruce renders the subsequent discussion a bit pointless, but it seems some people, other than Helen, enjoy the programme. I'll just try to make sure I continue to retune my radio at 12, though it's difficult to find something else I want to listen to. 5 Live is lost to me too now. |

Vine should put a sock in it.
Matthew Bannister would make a fine permanent replacement. |

For all his faults, Bannister doesn't do what really annoys me about Vine - he doesn't sound like a cat on hot bricks and he doesn't constantly shut off phone callers abruptly merely to play some crappy music track we've heard a million times on Radio 2. |

Ken talks about subjects with Jeremy which takes up time. I suppose JV needs to do what Matthew Bannister does, and say whats on the show quickly and go. They don't need to disect every subject. They should leave that upto the callers too try and do that. |

Yes, and you'd think that JV might have got the hint by now!
I agree with Colin, I much prefer Matthew Bannister or Brian Hayes in that slot. It's not the place for histrionics. |

One of the things Vine regularly does that annoys me intensely is the way he fires questions at people who have rung up to make a point, making it difficult for them to convey their opinion as intended. He then cuts them off before they get a chance to add what they wished to. I know Helen likes him, but sometimes I just want to give him a good shake. |

what i find annoying is the repetition of what's coming up in JV's show
i like the interaction with Ken at 11.30, it breaks his show up nicely
but then just before the news JV will say again what's coming up then usually after the news and/or the first song
then of course there's the second hour to promote... again
of course people will join the show at different points but a little less of this might mean more time to actually talk to callers
some of the music is nicely selected to be appropriate for the topic but even then it's the same old same old... |

Allegedly it's all random.
