I swooned this evening, not because of the dancing, but hearing my favourite music of all time: The Second Waltz
ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh..

I think Ann's got to go, it's just not funny any more!

And none lived up to my performance of the Argentine tango I performed the other night in my dream.
You should have seen me, it was miraculous! Shocked

A great show this evening I thought.... superb make up work and set lighting. I recorded it so I'll probably watch it again later and I do believe Michelle has improved!
I didn't think Patsy was on form but the Judges thought otherwise!
I still think Scott has a chance of winning and agree that Ann should really go now.

Have you heard Andre Rieu's version, Becky?
I love him and his concerts are great fun, make me feel quite homesick.

If she doesn't go tomorrow, the fun and jokes will start to turn sour... and it isn't fair on the others.

It's worth the expense just for the fun of keeping her in. The whole public voting thing's a farce anyhow.

I think she'll survive "tomorrow", but, as with John Sergeant two years ago, the paso doblé is probably the limit, and the joke will wear thin after that.
There are still a couple of weak couples whose departure a week or so early at her expense wouldn't matter too much, but if some of the really good performers start to fall while she's kept in then it becomes a travesty, and would probably be the death of the series. I'm fairly sure that, like Sergeant, she'd do the decent thing and bow out of her own accord.

I was only going to disapointed with this thread as I haven't seen the Sunday show yet. Christmas is a nightmare in my house Embarassed

I thought Tina was pretty good this week and last come to think of it. She looked pretty good this week too.

There was an improvement by all this week from the lower league dancers except Ann. It's just a shome that some of the more consistent dancers didn't do so well, and got pulled down into the bottm half.

Gavin is doing well because of the Welsh vote in the same way as and Scottish, Welsh, GMTV presenter has done getting the block vote. He was much better this week IMO

Flavia still in it Very Happy

Sorry if I spoilt it for you, Dis....Tina has done perfectly fine but,for me, there's some sparkle missing from her performances.

Tess I notice, this series, no longer says cooples...looks like someone had a word in her shell like Very Happy

I'm starting to lose interest with Strictly tbh. I don't bother at all with the results show because it's cr*p, don't watch ITT because it's the same thing every night, and even though I watched the main show on Saturday I found it hard going.

The only thing is .... um I am starting to like Anne Shocked I laughed more on Saturday than I have in all previous shows - it really was a bit of light relief in amongst all the rest of it.

I'll get me coat Embarassed

Ann said tonight to wait for her samba, in a couple of weeks, so she has confidence in the audience at home voting for her and keeping her in it .....her dress, tonight, actually flattered her figure for the first time....

I didn't think Scott's rumba was that bad ...but Matt and Kara stole the honours tonight ....difficult to say who will go ....
.
It clicked tonight who Kara reminds me of when she's talking ..Geri Halliwell

Matt and Kara definately the best last night. Think Len overmarked Scott, his Rumba was not dreadfully bad but it wasn't worth a nine either imo.

I thought a lot of the underdogs improved their performances last night, and with the exception of Ann W, the scores were pretty close together. There might be a surprising exit tonight.

Ann should go tonight as far as I'm concerned.. it really wouldn't be fair on the others if she remains.
I think she should stand down from the competition but stay on as entertainment... and to wind up Craig Revel Horwood Razz

Can I mention how the normally great band and singers destroyed the Kylie song last night. The vocalist was awful.

Ann will end up staying, her piece about the Samba in two weeks will get her voters out in force.

gavin much better, but a bit of a let down show after Kara's great Salsa the rest of the dances were not as good

For me many of the dancers peaked too soon. They were VERY competitive early in the show. and some of the better dancers have lost their puff. Thats why the public are going for Ann, she is not bothered what people say. She knows she is not a dancer but tries to get the steps right.....just like most of Joe public

No poeple are voting for Ann because it's entertaining, in the same way as JS was a few years ago, the producers know what they are getting when they sign up poeple like them.

I missed the show on Sunday but just watched it again on iPlayer.. yes, it was quite sad to see Jimmy voted out, he was clearly shocked! ( and speechless! ) So was I tbh...
I'm annoyed that Ann is still in at other people's expense ( if you think the show is about dancing capability as I do ) but, even if she was out this week, another decent dancer would have to be out next week so I suppose it's irrelevant.
I liked the opening Rock & Roll number and surprisingly, I also enjoyed Brian Ferry's performance too.
Again I can't help but think what a beautiful set that is? I loved the "stellar" appearance.. excellent.

As a non-strictly watcher (well have seen a couple of previous seriesbut have other things to do) can I pose the question - what is it supposed to be? Is it an entertainment show or a take on Come Dancing? I assume it is entertainment which is why the likes of John Sargent and Ann Widdecombe are invited to take part. On that basis what is the point of having these know it all judges on the panel. Surely they should not be comparing like with like but how much progress each dancer has made week by week.

As I see it (as someone who only watches the show when someone else happens to be watching it in my house), the judges are there merely to add drama.

They're not the ultimate arbiters of skill - that's the privilege of the voting audience who ultimitely decide each contestant's fate.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the fact that phone, web and text voting is a massive revenue stream for the production, too.

So the judges really are superfluous.

Absolutely right. That's why I wanted John Sergeant to win a couple of years back and why I want Ann Widdecombe to win this time round! Ann is, let's face it, very entertaining as was John.
