It was strange when Sir Elton and Robert Plant got nearly half hour each. Maybe he wanted a quick nap.

Isn't there a fuller interview at a later date? November 13th, I think.

bit of an odd show, why would you play lots of tracks by an artist that is about to come on stage and play the same tracks?

However ND was great of what I heard. Had to run away as Lulu started warbling.

Davey Jones trying to sell himself while being asked about ND songwriting was awful

I can't see how they could get anymore from the 3 minute interview, it sounded laboured as it was.,with questions not going very far Rolling Eyes

When Johnnie Walker was chatting to Simon, he more or less said Simon was lucky to get the 3 minutes, but that different artists have a different way they prepare for a show. He also said Neil Diamond was pretty much on his own where as the other 2 had people with them. Again different ways of preparing.

Johnnie Walker would have done a much better job of interviewing Neil. Simon Mayo was very stilted..

As Simon wrote on his blog this morning:
"The only disappointment of the 3 days was the woman who told me to stop interviewing Neil after 2 minutes. You can't really get that far in that time."

Certainly would have, certainly has done - JW's last drivetime had Diamond on for a good 35-40 minutes. I know it was for a special occasion, but still, such a relaxed yet insightful interview; even time for a dance with Sally Traffic!

Simon Mayo is an accomplished interviewer, but if he's told to stop asking questions, he has to stop.

They should have played the Robert Wyatt version of I'm A Believer.
