To be honest I didn't know any names when I saw the listing but recognised the singer from Gnarls Barclay. I watch it on Friday so i'll let you know
It's not as leftfield with its choice of bands as it used to be but it's better than the alternative

Right I've caught up now both the last two weeks.
Week before last I thought was ok, band called Delta Spirit I really enjoyed, KT Tunstell is always ok. I don't like and never have liked jamirockway so spent most of it on FF. Last week was much better, to be honest didn't know many bands on apart from the Steve Miller band and in fairness I ended up FFing only him. Loved Janelle Monae and The Jim Jones Revue, nothing new in styles but both bands full of energy. Cee-Lo Green new band were also not bad at all.

Thought Janelle Monae was very entertaining visually ....liked Cee-Lo Green and really enjoyed CW Stoneking!!...
What a treat at the end of this week's show,Ray Davies and Munford and Sons, together, just terrific!!.. |

Not sure I can agree with you there Beck, I love Ray Davies but the Mumford and Sons bore me whitless

Looking back at my post not sure I made it clear, I haven't seen it yet BUT munford and sons normally bore me whitless, I may be surprised  the help of SIR (why not yet) Ray Davies could change my mind

| Once upon a time Later was a must see for me, but then I kind of lost interest. Channel hopping the other night I caught the great Ray Davis with Mumford and Sons and thought it was excellent! |

There's a few tracks on YT I've been listening to all week, I know what you mean he does sound a bit more weatherbeaten than he looks

Sorry Becky, as much as I love the Kinks and Ray Davies the version of Days did nothing for me, think it was the banjo
Cyndi Lauper doing a covers album my that's original, actually so is John Legend, but at least his versions weren't that bad (sorry SS)
Not sure what I made of the ***** Club but thought they weren't awful
Imelda May ? first couple of tracks ok but not too keen on the Tainted Love cover. Antony and the Johnsons one track stole the show

Always a special occasion for me seeing Paul McCartney singing live on TV and tonight on Later was no exception ..he looked good (smart in his suit) and sounded good too.( I could be a little biased there  ) and Neil Diamond sounded much better than he did on Strictly last Saturday ..I liked his stripped down version of I'm a Believer..very nice ..enjoyed The Black Keys too.
Annoying on tonight's show Jools wittering on inanely about shared birthdays......why???? |

I like the show, and I like Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra and all the vocalists he has with it, but as a compere and presenter he's lost the plot, if he ever had it.
They were all good tonight - a very old fashioned sounding collection of songs by everyone. Paul was excellent as usual, not sure about his band - and if only he could write new stuff like that.

McCartney was on form last night - and looking good as well.
The Neil Diamond song was lovely, I love the Monkees version but this worked.
Jools is starting to become a parody of himself. |

I'm a week behind, I only got round to seeing last weeks, last night.
Watch out Duffy's about 
One of the weeker episodes last Friday, not much in it for me although Gaslight ..... were ok and heaven 17 were pretty good. more ffwd than play
I'll let you know about Friday when I watch it at the weekend

I sound odd saying this as he does nothing for me musically in general, but only heard one track from last week so far and it was Jet by Macca and I thought it was pretty good

I had to laugh when Eric Clapton sang 'When Somebody Thinks You're Wonderful'! This ought to be an ironic ringtone for a certain boss who's got Len Goodman's attitude to absentees - the show must go on whether you've to attend a funeral or attend to a sick relative who needs you.
(Len Goodman bawled out one of the celebrity dancers on Strictly Come Fixing because this dancer attended a family funeral instead of doing something really important like dancing on a stupid TV programme.)

| I've missed a lot of telly this week due to work pressures, and that includes Later.. but I must try and catch the repeat of the show. There's been a lot of stuff about Macca this week and I'm pleased that Band On The Run is getting the attention it deserves. I remember rushing out and buying the original LP when it was released and the CD gets much play in the car! It's a fantastic album - one of the best from the 70s in my view - and a definite classic. |

Band On The Run is indeed a fine album. Of course if you listen to Radio 2 or most of the tinpot local radio stations then the only two songs on the album are the title track and Jet (for instance SOT70s featured the album a few weeks ago and, with toe curling lack of originality, featured only those two songs).
There are many fine songs there: Bluebird, Mrs Vandebilt, Mamunia, Picasso's Last Words etc. It was his finest album. |

well I'm a bit worn out last night, I managed to watch the shows with Neil Diamond/ Macca, Kings Of Leon/ Eric Clapton and Bryan ferry/ Midlake as I got a little behind (I havn't got a little behind)
To be honest I thought Neil Diamond was the standout performance of these shows.
Macca - Jet was great I now like one song by him the others not my thing
Eric Clapton - not great either
Bryan Ferry - Slightly better
Midlake - first track was lovely the second a little dull nice voices though new on me
Kings of Leon- not as catchy as their last album but still a very together professional sounding band at the top of their game
MIA- the reggae track great the other not
Bellowhead- not my thing
Vaccines - great sound
2 door cinema club - liked these too
now just last nights show to get before I get behind again, arcade fire looking forward to hearing their new stuff loved the last album
