...and is anyone going to saw Phil Collins in half for his karaoke Motown album?
Yes, it's wonderful he's helping what's left of the Funk Brothers in their old age, but would writing a cheque have filled an hour on ITV1? _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

no, Phil Collins and Motown don't do it for me, I want to remember the proper singers please. A reminder, if anyone needs it, is for the Motown show Smooth Radio saturday 6 - 8. Last weeks turn up louds - The Velvelettes - These Things Will Keep me Loving You, Stevie Wonder - I Was Made to Love Her plus artist of the week Jimmy Ruffin.
(repeating my request for anyone who knows anything about track "Child of Love" by Caston & Majors) |

I can't help with anything about the track you're looking for Gutsygub as I've never heard it... I'm listening to it now on Youtube.
I mentioned elsewhere, a black and white Motown tribute show I recorded years ago which I was pleased to see was recorded here in the UK ( hosted by Dusty.. ) it must have been fantastic to have been there.
Since watching this show, I can't get it out of my head just how pretty Florence Ballard was of the Supremes! I suppose we all like Diana Ross and she's a great singer for sure but I can't help but feel a little "anti" Diana when I read how Florence was asked to leave the trio by Berry Gordy.. presumably with the consent of Diana... it broke her heart and probably led to her early death at just 32 years old.. she was the cutest of the bunch in my eyes.. such a shame. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07
I have heard how radio should be. |

must agree with you there SantaFeFan, Diana had undoubted talents but looks not no 1, probably jealousy made her get Berry to oust Florence. I liked a lot of what the Supremes did post Diana - Up The Ladder to the Roof and Stoned Love especially. |

I could well be gutsygrub - says she just polishing off a kit-kat.
I imagine Soulsister to be the one to ask about my track but don't see her on here yet.
Love Temptations, I like the track Get Ready, but my all time favourites must be the Four Tops especially Do What You Gotta Do, Still Water (Peace and Love) and It's All in the Game.
Another old favourite of mine which you don't often hear anywhere is Spinnin' and Spinnin' by Syreeta. |

Now you're talking!!!!
Is this my kinda thread or is this my kinda thread?
Gutsy, your track is worth more than a mere question. It's worth an in depth discussion.
Unfortunately I am engrossed in his divineship Roberto Plant at the minute on Electric Proms but I shall return.
Meanwhile here's a bit of the wondrous Brenda Holloway:

I shall return once Roberto has done his thing! |
