And every accolade fully deserved. Just sat and watched the best hour's telly I've seen in years.
The man is worth every accolade I've just used to describe him and more.
My biggest regret is that after Led Zep I stopped listening, even through what he himself describes as his 80s sh*t (which is kind of how I think of the whole decade if I'm honest) Tonight even that sounded pretty damn good.
If you missed it, get yourselves over to the iplayer and watch Robert Plant: By Myself.
Meanwhile here's a little bit of bliss courtesy of Roberto and the lads:

I have all of Plant's solo albums from the 80s and actually they're all pretty good, and Big Log was one of the best songs of the decade.
Soulsis: I've always loved Tea For One and Page's solo. It's certainly as good as Since I've Been Loving You, and I love Presence as much as any of their albums. |

One interesting fact that came out was that he was going to give up and become a teacher. |

Yes I enjoyed it too. I saw him with the Honeydrippers, somehow a mate got word that they were turning up that night at the 'General Wolfe' pub in Coventry. A really good session with just 50 of us standing in a pub lounge, agog!
(saw Led Zep in the 70s in Edinburgh Usher Hall, quite a different venue) _________________ -

Yes, I was surprised by the Eightees Nonsense he did. But he has done much to redeem himself. The album with Alison Krauss was good & the Band of Joy is superb |

I loved the comment about a collective of women being a 'serenity'! I can believe that in regard to someone like Sarah McLachlan or all those other Lilith Fair types, but not regarding Girls Aloud or the Loose Women presenters.
Also the reference to the farmers' market in Katmandu brought back thoughts of the Armstrong & Miller song about the farmers' market - all those people buying organic eggs at over the odds prices! _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

Enjoyed this ....more so because Robert was telling us the story himself, (with just a little contribution from Mark Radcliffe) not the usual talking heads...I have to say he has a lovely little bum.... ... |
