I'm A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here!
Children In Need
Crappy daytime shows about doing up someone's house (I really thought someone was taking the piss when the old ITN news theme backed the bit about the room full of old radios; someone who'd seen the Bill Bailey 'Remarkable Guide To The Orchestra' DVD!)
David Dickinson's show for the other side with the 'Doctor Strangelove' sounding expert
Midsomer Murders - the different parts of that place are weird; Midsomer Parva, Midsomer Mallow, Midsomer Needle Nardle Noo (okay, I lied about the last one)
Doctors (the series) - it should really go out on Syfy seeing as people actually get seen to straight away!

The hype over Wills and Kate's upcoming wedding.

I couldn't give a flying one as to what colour the dress will be or who's designing it - it's another excuse to ignore rising unemployment.

I'd love the BBC (let alone other broadcasters) to explain why it's necessary that all main news bulletins should now be linked via an OB satellite feed from across the road from Buck House in order to continue with (a) the hype and (b) speculation about the what, when, why, what she'll be wearing etc etc.

The only "news" I've heard in this respect is "Prince William and his bird are engaged to be married". All the rest is complete and utter BS.

Woopie-doo.

Upcoming grates on me, why can't an event be forthcoming like it used to be?

Not particularly deep on the coast here in Norfolk but constant and freezing too! The situation is particularly depressing for me as I have an extension being built up to second floor level and we're working on forming the roof including cutting into the existing roof, so the snow, rain, melting snow ( as it is now ) and ice is getting on my wick a bit to say the least! Rolling Eyes
Plus of course, me and the chippys are fed up with getting soaked everyday! Laughing

Oh dear, I see why you are putting snow in Room 101 then. Let us hope it clears up soon for you.

I work in transport so Snow is not a friend here, then again if it is going to snow I would be happy for it to be up to my waist then we all admit defeat and work round it. I hate the news footage about snow and the fact that a light dusting has warnings from police saying no unneccessary journeys to be made, I have 15 drivers out their on neccessary journeys and they all manage it, slow down

Snow
Musicals with no real tunes (Phantom Of the Opera and Sweeney Todd, come on down!)
Hour-long soap episodes that mainly consist of people crying and random shots of Morley Town Hall

Cookery shows on Saturday morning - I can be made to feel inferior at home without Nigella etc. doing expensive recipes!

Football Focus documenting the UK's failure to host the World Cup as if it's a major tragedy. Nobody died, for crying out loud!

The Fat Controller and Wills Nice But Dim on the news in support of the above (whenever the word FIFA comes up I think of 'Fifi & The Flowertots')

As I mentioned in another thread: Boney M.

I mean - what ever was the point?

Room 101, now (even if it's rather late)!

ColinB, I agree about Boney M! Mary's Boy Child really grates at this time of year.

By the way, there is a make of flapjack called Ma Baker's, sold in all good ethical health food shops - I haven't seen anyone put their hands in the air and give them all the money in Headingley yet!

I'd like to put the expression "For Free" into Room 101. Is it me or has that only found its way into common parlance in the last couple of years? It seems to be in use everywhere.

Either we obtain something "for nothing" or it's "free", surely?

Yes Colin plus the fact that these things are not free anyway

As someone once said 'There's no such thing as a free meal'

Someone somewhere is paying by way of increased prices on other goods and probably all of us Sad

I just don't understand why the word "for" has to preface the word "free". Why?

I don't mind the flying (in fact I love it) but it's the never-ending racket you get from some kids that grates. Chuck 'em out, that's what I say! Still, I guess I really ought to upgrade to Upper Class...... Smile

I'm not keen on flying in big passenger planes, too much hoo ha before you can even get on one, much better to go by train or ship,( if you have time) little planes and some helicopters are ok and fun too.

Helicopters are fab! A couple of years back I was given a tour of Lanzarote (yes, all of it!) in a helicopter piloted by a bloke whose day job is as an aerial firefighter, and based on Tenerife. There weren't many fires the day we went up. We flew all around the rugged coastline (the north part of the island is spectacular) and even up to and around the rim of the largest volcano. They're not allowed to actually fly over the volcano crater itself, thankfully.

I was evaluating a new high definition video camera system at the expense of one of the main electronics brands. Well, somebody has to do these jobs!

I have twice flown over Niagara Falls, in a helecopter and light plane. Stunning views of the area to be had that way.

Wakefield HMV and other retailers justifying the absence of an album I ordered by the excuse that it's 'not a big seller' (in this case it was Spock's Beard's 'X').

Any version of 'Let It Snow' - my boss threw a wobbler in the bank of the black horse this afternoon because a Harry Connick CD with this on was playing much too loudly when she was organising a group account.

The manager of same not allowing birth certificates as a valid form of ID unless I was under 18.

Becky, my DAB radio makes a gurgling sound whenever Pulse or Ridings FM is on, and I'm in the catchment area!

Planet Rock and Rock FM work just fine.

Not that Zara Phillips IS marrying Dara O'Braian...

Denise Robertson's sanctimonious message on This Morning about the troubles at Christmas. Delivered on what looked like the throne Solomon Burke had when he was on Jools's Hootenanny - I thought she was going to close with a version of 'Everybody Needs Somebody To Love'!

'Yeah, even Philip Schofield needs somebody to love!' Laughing

I would like everybody who uses "text speak" ("ur", "hun", "gr8", "lol", etc) when writing or emailing to be committed to Room 101 please.

Oh, and those who don't know the difference between "your" and "you're" - that includes at least two press officers who work for large consumer-brand corporations who start emails with "Hi Colin - I hope your well". Worryingly, these people are educated to degree level.

Well-meaning relatives who give me inappropriate presents.

I like to buy CDs by bands I like, so what does my elder niece get me? Bath accessories.
