Thoroughly enjoyed listening to Richard on Monday 15th sitting in for Steve wright.

Excellent music played, (great to hear new music from OMD), interesting interviews and nothing pre-recorded in sight!

Look forward to the rest of this weeks shows.

Keep up the good work Mr Allinson.

It's been fine (everyone's playing the new OMD) and it's always a perverse kind of fun to hear the awkward interviews. Miranda Hart wondering why he was asking certain things, and Tim Vine having his jokes ruined. Ahhh! Confused

The John Bishop interview was a pre-record though.......

Thanks Helen-I had not picked that up.

Good interview though-Richard seems very at ease re "interviews".

Quite enjoyed the shows so far, nice to hear Richard play Ace of Spades, nice break from Take That all the time!!!!
Also good to have the non stop oldies actually non stop too.
Have to say although the guests seem to be on a bit longer than they are with Steve, I find the interviews really really awkward and show exactly how not to do them.

I know you're a huge fan so I shouldn't be amazed at this but Richard's show always come undone when he has to interact with someone else. At times it's quite painful.

I don't think that RA should actually be allowed to interview comedians or in fact anyone who is naturally funnier than he himself thinks he is.

It seems to turn into a one sided competiton driven by RA to outsmart the other by constantly trying to get one up on the interviewee.

Memo to Allinson:

You're just a DJ - and not a particularly good one either.

Best part of today's show? When John Bishop signed off from the (recorded - not live) interview saying that he was glad to have met RA as although he had heard of him and heard the voice he didn't know what he looked like and was glad to see that he wasn't wearing slippers and smoking a pipe!

Well I would much rather listen to Richard Allinson than almost everyone else who broadcasts on Radio 2. There are a couple of exceptions, these being Johnnie Walker and Stuart Maconie. I also like SOTS and POTP. I would like Alex if he was on at a more normal time, but I do listen to him when I can't get back to sleep.

I agree he's not good at interviews is he, as Gibbo says "Good music and (my favourite) comedians" , I particularly liked the bit about the pipe and slippers Very Happy

An enjoyable week of Richard covering for Steve Wright.

Hopefully Steve Wright continues to take lots of holidays going forward.
