Following on from the slot on Chris' show, what song or piece of music makes you feel great?
Of the ones that have been on the show, I'd say Irving Berlin medley played by the BBC symphony orchestra & Sammy Davis Jr "Talk To The Animals"
Others would be "Manhattan" -Ella Fitzgerald
Over the Rainbow- that very famous actress

It reminds me of the weird 1970's show of the same name to which it was the theme. Wendy Craig, Geoffrey Palmer, Nichols Lyndhurst, & AN Other starred.

Blimey! I'd forgotten about that!
Chris played the song on his show the other day after a feature on butterflies.Nice & whimsical. I'm a Dolly fan in any case

I do like Leonard Cohens songs, but don't exactly full you with the joys of spring Very Happy "Chelsea Hitel # 2" is a good one. "Bird On The Wire". Melancholy, though

I have Jennifer Warnes: Famous Blue Raincoat - Songs Of Leonard Cohen, which is excellent, especially her take on 'First We Take Manhattan' & 'Famous Blue Raincoat'.
But I also really enjoy Cohen's album, 'I'm You're Man', which includes my two fav tracks, 'Tower of Song' & 'Take This Waltz'.

Positively 4th Street, Dylan. Makes me think of a bust up with the nastiest girl at my school. I had the 45 and would play it every time she came round to my house, trying to pretend she was my friend. It was old then, but I am afraid to say I still laugh when I hear it. In fact I am grinning now.
