On Sunday Love Songs yesterday a Lost Love item centred round the Craven Arms pub, Coventry.

In the 70s I lived about 200 yards from this establishment and frequently did some courting there.

I hope the Lost Love referred to quickly becomes a found one.

Ian.

It must be residual Wilfred Pickles syndrome (stock question on his 50s show Have a Go--are you courtin'?).

I'll be talking about walking out next.

Hi John.

Don't recall the Earlsdon Cottage but in 1973/4 I was in Coventry 18 plus group, which met at the Royal Oak, Earlsdon.

Yeah, used to be an Ansells pub! It's being refurbished. It's the hang out for the local BBC Local Radio football commentators.

The Cottage is in the street behind the Oak, in Warwick St.

The City Arms is a Wetherspoons now. I lived in Albany Road and Stanley Road for a while, till 1981.

I'll be over at the Hearsall end of town this Friday when I will be at the Nursery Tavern and the Craven Arms! Both excellent real ale pubs.

Cheers,

John W
