p'raps we could all send up a little prayer. Didn't realise that the one show had changed again as to me it is now unwatchable since Adrian and Christine left.

It's a tough call. Half an hour on TV and an audience of 3-4 million, or three hours on radio for 7-8 million.

No reason why he couldn't do both, of course, but might need a four-day week.

I don't think he looks comfortable on The One Show. I think it's just a stop-gap until something else comes along.

OK wishful thinking!

He's just signed a deal with Channel 4 for something-or-other that will feature his gob and silly mush on screen, so I guess it's unlikely unless he runs himself into the ground doing everything he possibly can.

Er, now there's a thought...........

If you think about it, the BBC One does not have a good record of keeping hold of One Show presenters, Carol Thatcher, Hardeep Sing Kohli, Adrian Chiles and Miss Bleakley and now Manford.....lets hope the trend continues....!

Yes, the least we can expect is for them to remain consistent! Smile

I must admit, when I read the news about Manford my first thought was very similar Twisted Evil
Let's face it: Evans desires media exposure like a fish needs water and he'd get more on a TV show than via radio.... fingers crossed, eh! Very Happy

The Caps Lock key is the third key up on the far left of your keyboard. Press it once to deactivate it.

A friend of mine e-mailed Chris about his Royal Wedding hyperbole and got a reply from his producer, apologising and promising to try and keep it in check in future.

This morning I awoke late to be subjected to Evans' gob in my left ear (er, not literally, you understand!). He was inviting me to text him and say "Mooooooorning Chris!". So I did. The text read:

"Mooorning Chris. I've just switched over to Radio 4 as an antidote to your incessant and juvenile cackle. Goodbyeeee Chris."

Needless to say I felt very pleased with myself for having done this.

Cool

Colin you'll never know whether he read it out unless you can find someone you know who is sufficiently into self harm to suffer the show on your behalf

All in the interests of research of course Smile

Ditto brethen. I catch only about 10-15 minutes of daybreak now in the morning before work - really like Adrian and Christine on there. Do so wish ITV could reschedule it to 7.00pm. Can even put up with ads if it means less of CE!

I fully sanction these points of views/quotes.......without expletive without the use of caps lock...................?

I rarely-like very rarely watch either the ONE show OR listen to our favourite radio channel in the morning. thanks to Lynn - helping out SK(or maybe even BBC management-despite private sector rates) when she needed it...

If we went back to the 70's and 80's then this may have happened. Radio 2 have moved on with TV stars who host shows. In a fantasy world - Liza Tarbuck would have had mid mornings, and Dale Winton would be on afternoons if any of those had left.

That's exactly R2's problem at the moment- too many unskilled celebs and TV stars and nowhere near enough proper, intelligent, professional RADIO PRESENTERS.
