This Ken Dodd song was often played on Junior Choice (hosted by Leslie Crowther?, then Ed Stewart)
I thought of this same song when 'How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days' was on TV and a reviewer in Metro described the male lead as 'Matthew Where's Me Shirt McConnaughey'!
He does not say in the film whether he lost his tickling tackle and his nicky nocky knee... _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

We've just booked to see Doddy in Basingstoke next April. When I used to watch him on TV years ago I always told myself that I really must see him on stage.
April will be my fourth or fifth time and IMO he is the master of stand-up comedy. A lot of his material is familiar - it doesn't matter in the least - and there is always something new as well. He connects with his audience and knows how to build and build. Eventually I feel I just can't take any more and am reduced to tears of helpless laughter.
And then, almost turning on a sixpence, he will launch into a sentimental ballad and carries the audience along with him. A one-off comedy genius if ever there was.
Can you tell I'm a Doddy-fan? |

I agree Eileen
I remember going to see him two or three times in the mid sixties at the Liverpool Empire which was kind of like his home gig and as you say his rapport with the audience was unique
I also remember him coming to St Helens around that time to open a Christmas fete which my dad organised and his agent refused to take a cheque insisting on cash and of course this later came back to haunt him
He certainly hasn't lost his touch as he has got older
Still a very funny man and a very nice person with it _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
