Eileen, do you remember David Troughton (Patrick's son) as Dr. Bob Buzzard in A Very Peculiar Practice?

He's been in Midsomer Murders, though I detest that programme for its Daily Mail-centric view of England.

If I remember correctly David Troughton made a very convincing gang boss in New Tricks and wasn't David's son Sam (?) in Robin Hood?

Bring Back Williasm Hartnell

Yes, I remember the very first Doctor Who. It was THE talk of the playground!

Just think, it was transmitted live in those days. Can't see that being achieved now! Smile

You're right. It was recorded "as live" due to the complexity of editing early 2" Quad videotape back in 1963.

I have a friend who was a Tech Op trainee at TVC at the time who has many fascinating stories to tell about his time there. I remember being shown around TVC in the mid-60s and seeing the set of "Z-Cars". It shattered my illusion whenever I subsequently watched it.
