Sir Trevor McDonald is to host a satirical news quiz for ITV called News Knight which is loosly modelled on Have I Got News For You?
Is it me or is Sir Trevor one of the least funny people on the planet? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I didn't know he was supposed to be funny He's a nice guy and a half decent newscaster but lets face it, he's no Kenny Everett is he? |

I dont mind them copying things if it is funny. After all HIGNFY is hardly original. Panel games have been around for a very long time.
I just dont think Sir Trevor is comedy gold. That's my gripe.
I see ITV are also bringing Ben Elton in to do a satarical show. At least they are trying to do a lot more comedy these days. Al Murray was quite funnyt on Saturday nights I must admit. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Then they go and spoil in with dame (well past my sell bydate) edna. Bad drag acts went out in the 80's _________________ Geddon

Reputedly, Sir Trevor has a very good sense of humour.
Let's be fair to the guy, it's hardly something he's going to be able to get much chance to exhibit while he's reading hard-hitting and serious news items, is it?
Can't be any worse than most of ITV's recent "comedy" offerings _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

Fair comment PJ, I do remember Trevor hosting HIGNFY once, he was very good. |
