I've just bought the Bob Lind CD re-issue of two albums from 1966. I think it is very good indeed, perfect summer listening if you enjoy 'Folk Rock.'
I note that Bob Lind is coming to the UK and will be on lots of Radio 2 shows such as Bob Harris, Jonathan Ross and Mark Radcliffe/Stuart Maconie and also on some BBC6 Music programmes.

I've only heard Elusive Butterfly before which was on a compilation called Sunny Afternoons.
Is that song representative of his work Brian, as I'm tempted to get the album myself

Hello gaz. Yes, Bob does have a style of his own and I certainly enjoyed listening to the CD (which only came out today!) He is very 'wordy' and puts some good images together in his songs. which I as a Bob Dylan fan like a lot. However if you wait till you hear Bob Lind on any of the above shows you can decide if it's for you! Cheers!

SOTS recently included Remember the Rain--similar-style follow-up to Elusive Butterfly but far less successful.

Turn over Remember the Rain and you have an even better track, Truly Julie's Blues. Maybe this could be a SOTS B side/A side at a later date.

Ian.

Yes Ian, and all the goodies you mention are on this CD and 'Cheryl's going home' of course, which I think Mike Reynolds likes.

Anyone heard of Elliott Murphy? A singer songwriter from the seventies who is still active today. I've got his first LP from 1973 (I think) 'Aquashow', and the CD version is on the net for over £100! I've just ordered two of his CD albums for a more modest total of £5 and £8 each!

Thanks Ian, I'll definitely make sure I catch the shows.
Regarding Elliot Murphy I personally haven't heard of him but will now try and rectify that as I love finding good music that I've never heard before.
From myself, can I recommend a singer songwriter called,
FRANCIS DUNNERY(formerly with It Bites)
I especially recommend the albums MAN, and his last album,
THE GULLEY FLATS BOYS which is one of my favourite albums of all time with some really soul baring and heartfelt songs.
I really feel he should be a star, but in these times it's no surprise he isn't.
Gaz.
ps ,you can hear some bits of GULLEY FLATS BOYS on Francisdunnery.com

Just seen this thread so sorry for being a bit late!

Bob is playing over here starting on Friday where I am going to see him at The Luminaire in London where the special guest is Richard Hawley. Tickets still available on the door according to the website.

I heard it Ian! Bob is now only doing a couple of shows while he is here, in London and Essex I think. I'll have to listen out for when he is on Bob Harris, JR and Maconie and Radcliffe. I expect it will be in this coming week.
