Singer Frankie Laine has died aged 93.

He had 18 weeks at no 1 in the charts in 1953 with I Believe, the longest total run ever--though he did it in 3 stints so Bryan Adams' Everything I Do beats it in number of consecutive weeks.

Sixteen Tons and the Rawhide theme were much better IMHO, but this sacharine dirge keeps getting dug out and played as a tribute.
