I see that Randall Lee Rose has just left Big L advising listeners he has not been paid for 2 months. I use to listen to Randall on Capital Radio a few years ago-he was a good presenter.

Apparantly advertising on the station has also ground to a halt.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I had not realised until just now that Ed Stewart is a cover jock for this station.

Has anyone heard any of his shows on this radio station (soon to be no more).

Steve Levine also had a show on the station. I'm not sure if he is still there now?

I think all the cover presenters have left as they probably arent getting paid either. It seems that Big L will soon follow thejazz, planet rock and 3c into radio history.

I tuned into Big L on the web this evening after reading about the station in Radio Times. I'd previously seen a TV prog about it.
Interesting interview with Elkie Brooks on now. She's picking a good selection of music & is very interesting.
I saw on their website that Randal Lee Rose was a presenter.
They didn't mention he'd left!
Not been paid for two months, eh?
Rekn I'd leave too!
I used to listen to randal on Capital Gold & Country 1035

I read the article in the Radio Times with pictures of Diddy Hamilton and Mike Read sharing a house Monday - Friday whilst they broadcast from Frinton On Sea about 70 Miles from London.

Did you see the TV prog about it about a year ago? It seems Diddy Hamilton & Mike Read are in neighbouring rooms with a comedy wardrobe connecting them. Odd!!
They had Alan Sugar, I think, go out there as a business consultant to give them advise, but they didn't like his advice!

They didn't like or take notice of anybody's advice, and they had plenty of it, from some big successful entrepreneurs. Can't actually remember Alan Sugar, but you can just picture him can't you? - "Bunch of tossers! Not a hope of making any money. Close it down now" Laughing

Well it's still going - Mike Read's waffling on - "Badfinger, what a great band!" - right now.

That was sort of what he said.
He was quite enthusiastic when he first came in, but was quite scathing when they rejected his advice!

I just tuned into Big L and i am fairly sure that is randall Lee Rose on air now. So either the info reported earlier about him leaving was wrong, or they've come up with the money & come to a new agreement. He is a good dj Cool

There were loads of GCap people making fun of the Big L. Its kind of ironic now considering that Gcap is axing presenters & stations wholesale (PlanetRock & thejazz for example). Shows you what they know. Laughing

Yes! You are right, Gyford. The music biz is more Harvey's field than Sugars.
I think Harvey was a bit taken back at their lackadaisical attitude.
Then again, the Big L guys may be right.
By instinct, Harvey would make them into a regular radio station, fitting into the regular business plan. It may have made them more viable, but they really wanted to do something different. And they are still on the air!
I used to listen to randals late night shows on Gold, & his shows in just about every timeslot on Country 1035.
I'm surprised he is not on a more established station
