Really looking forward to hearing the excellent Richard Allinson back on Radio 2 over the Easter holidays.
On Easter Monday Richard also has one of his Record Producers going out in the evening.
Allinson rocks. |

You're quite welcome to RA's particular brand of cheese, which just isn't for me, over Easter, as I shan't have an opportunity to listen.
I'm fascinated as to where one of his record producrs is going though... the theatre? cinema? restaurant? _________________ ~~~ Niblet ~~~

Mark... the first comment, although it looks like a main one, was really my excuse for posting the second comment... the one I really wanted to make as the idea tickled me. _________________ ~~~ Niblet ~~~

The latest in the series of Richard Allinson's Record Producers Shows will be broadcast at 6pm on Easter Monday.
The Show will profile the production and song writing teams of Stock, Aitken and Waterman. |

Not as far as I am aware-I've listened, I think, to everyone in the 2 series aired to date. |

Just for abit of fun, which was the worst artist that charted for SAW? Any opinions?
There are some pretty ropey ones to choose from.

I think SAW is just as valid as any other subject in the Record Producers series - they were hugely successful and had a distinct work ethic that's worth exploring.
Thanks to the Record Producers series I've discovered lots of interesting stuff - I really don't like Bob Clearmountain, and Niles Rodgers seems a clever bloke but all his songs were the same backing track at different speeds!
As for the worst SAW act - surely that's The Reynolds Girls? I'd rather Jack than Fleetwood Mac (one of Aitken's lyrics, that). |

That's exactly my memory of SAW. They all sounded pretty much the same whoever the artist was. Yes, to me, that Rick Astley track sounded just like a period Kylie track, save for a male voice. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

It was a pretty bland show today from what I heard of it. Text in where you are and what you are doing, blah, blah, blah. The usual stuff about who is working, who isn't, etc.
Do they do this every holiday? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Excellent show delivered by Richard Allinson today-great selection of music played.
So much better than the normal predictable Kennedy and Wogan offerings. |

You are probably right.
On a serious note I wonder if Radio 2 DJ's/presenters and others on other stations take the time to look at various message boards such as this one.
If they don't perhaps they should-indeed how do they keep up to speed on what the listening audience think about their performances. |

Terry Wogan always said you cant please everybody and that its better to have people either love or hate you rather than think you are average. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

They do on the 6 music boards. You can see messages from Gideon Coe & Marc Riley (to name two) on there. Show producers also post on the 6 music boards from time to time. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Good work Richard Allinson re your shows over Easter for BBC Radio 2.
If Richard on leaving BFBS goes to a non BBC Radio Station will these recent appearances be his last for Radio 2.
It looks as though Richard will be continuing to present Allinson Albums on BBC Radio Oxford on Saturday lunchtimes. |

It was strange he got an Easter Egg off the lady who did Pause For Thought on Easter Monday and said " Yippeeeeee that was my first" Does his kids not buy him any?
I know I mess around, but It will be sad for those of us not to hear him on Radio 2, if thats was it. I'm sure he will be back somewhere soon. I think thats not only Lesley Choice it could be Richards? Maybe Record Producers could have been the last for Radio 2?
He doesn't need to promote himself for High profile status just leave it too us lot.. |
