This is my hello to all the members on here and I hope to post a bit more on the boards. I'm not sure if I am rare because I am reasonably young but thourougly enjoy what R2 is offering! Perhaps even rarer because I like Chris Evans' and Steve Wrights shows!
So hello everyone. |

Welcome John! Look forward to hearing from you about Radio 2. The subject box above is a song by Waylon Jennings about Johnny Cash! |

Welcome johnump, at last a member who actually LISTENS to Evans and Wright.
I can never listen to Wright but have been known to occasionally try and give Evans a go but he never impresses me much.
I often used to challenge gfloyd (maybe when he was ernie) to listen to one Evans show from beginning to end and list the plus points but the necessary response never materialised, so the challenge is out to you now johnump

Rightio I shall take on the challenge John W. I'll make what I think are the good points and you can tear the list to pieces! |

Hi Johnump, and a big welcome to the other Steve Wright fan! I think he's a great dj and really does make me laugh..
As for the other one.... well least said the better but luckily I've discovered Planet Rock.
I also find Richard Allinson completely boring. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Ah but I never claimed to listen to his show from start to finish. At best I would hear about 60 minutes of the show per night (not always the same hour either).
As it happens I am listening to very little Radio 2 lately anyway. I heard about half an hour of Evans on Friday night and then a great programme about classical music in Vienna, but thats been about the extent of it for the last 2 weeks or so, apart from a few minutes of Walker/ Titchmarsh last night.
Radio 2 is becoming a turn off, mainly because of the the repeatitivity of music, guests and texts/ emails. Evans is a bit more original than most IMO, but they all (daytime presenters) vere into the same repeat loop that gets a bit tiring after a while. I know that many people find this comforting and dont like change, but it just gets boring after a while IMO.
Evans is now close to reaching the stage where he is getting as predictable as Terry, Ken or Steve. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

gfloyd,
I'm getting like the same, now. Last week I listened only to Malcolm Laycock and before that a bit of Russel Davies.
I used to always listen to FNIMN but thats' rare now. I knew about the music in Vienna programme but as I've a fair collection of it's music from Haydn through to the Strausses to Mahler, I gave it a miss, but I'll give the BBCiplayer a run on it later.
