The agenda on today's show is:
Feral Thugs: About a judge who compared two teenagers to wild animals after kicking a goth woman to death.
Sex Addiction: Lord Laidlaw, the leading Tory donor, has said he going to receive treatment for sex addiction, after he was exposed by a tabloid newspaper for holding sex parties with prostitutes.
Cannabis: The prime minister says that cannabis should be returned to class C status.
Cattle stampede: About a woman walking her dog who was trampled by a herd of stampeding cattle

What a deeply depressing set of topics - I couldn't bear to listen.
Couple of weeks ago, on one of these TV programmes that follow the police around, they dealt with a couple of brothers who had run amok in a Tescos, having taken offence at a remark made by a customer. It took several policemen and security staff to restrain them - they were kicking and shouting and foaming at the mouth like a couple of wild animals. What on earth makes them behave thus? Drugs? Chocolate? Computer Games?
Also in the lunchtime news today was the Coroner's verdict of Accidental Death on the baby who was killed last year by two rottweilers. The dogs were put down; we have to pay to keep the woman's murderers in a high security jail and then worry what they're going to get up to when they're released.
Who cares about Lord Laidlaw's sex addiction?
Cannabis - the report says it should remain a class C drug. Gordon Brown is inclined to go against advice and return it to class B. Which I wouldn't argue against, but it means more work for our hardpressed police, courts and jail systems. _________________ Ron |

I had to dash off before I got to the woman trampled to death.
Very unfortunate and fortunately rare. When something spooks a herd of anything it's very difficult to stop and they don't usually look where they're going to avoid obstacles or people. No suggestion that the dog had anything to do with it.
I'm always very wary if I have to cross a field with cattle in it. It may be just a red rag to a bull, but they might be colourblind! _________________ Ron |

Feral Thugs: About a judge who compared two teenagers to wild animals after kicking a goth woman to death.
Simply unbelievable... and to hear one of the culprit's mother was laughing about it in court... well give them, and those like them, the death penalty I say.
These "people" are sub-normal. Maybe that's the answer - treat them as mentally unstable and lock the sods up for life, although I prefer the quick jab alternative.
Things need to change in our society and the do-gooders need to back off.
Cattle stampede: About a woman walking her dog who was trampled by a herd of stampeding cattle.
Very unfortunate of course but from what I heard on the JV show, it may have been a case of frantic mother cows protecting their young, possibly brought about by the dog. The expert said that mother cows, although normally meek mannered, will take action against dogs - not humans.
At the end of the day, you take your chances when it comes to nature. The cows were in their field doing what they do and a human walks in their environment with a potential four legged threat... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Re the cows trampling a woman to death, I would have thought it was common sense not to walk a dog through a field with cows in it.
It beggars belief at what certain members of our society will do to others. Jeremy read out an anonymous comment after the 1pm news re the thugs and the fact that the town is split over the sentences. It said that it was as if the lowest of the low had all been dumped in the town........ or words very similar to that.
