Paul O'Grady is reportedly being lined up to replace Bruce Forsyth on Strictly Come Dancing.

The TV host is BBC bosses' first pick to replace Forsyth, 80, if he decides to retire from the dance contest, claims The Sun.

A source commented: "Everyone round here knows Brucie can’t go on forever. Even he’s started dropping hints that the next series might be his last.

"Paul is a definite favourite and would be brilliant."

Forsyth remained tight-lipped about his future on the show at this year's BAFTAs, only confirming that he would do another series.

As long as he stays as himself and not Lilly Savage. Laughing I think he would be a good replacement.

Lol! This is only because Paul was discussing this with STW on Friday. He mearly said it would be a great program to host, he never mentioned anything about actually doing it, stupid press. Laughing

Nothing against the bloke, but, considering his attendance record on his present C4 show closely resembles Richard Hammond's covering Terry Wogan on Bank Holidays, I hope this is another non-starter, for the good of his own health and well-being as much as anything else.
